Poor Management, Rude Staff--No Control

On Saturday, Feb. 9th, my husband and I went to Applebee's in Humble Texas for a late lunch. We passed 8 other restaurants to dine there. When we arrived, there were 4 people in the entry waiting to be seated. There was apparently not a hostess working.

Once we finally decided to seat ourselves in the bar area, the bartender ignored us completely. She actually walked past our table 4 times and didn't even say "I will be right with you". Behind us were 4 employees eating, smoking, and drinking. After 10 minutes of being ignored, I decided it was time to leave.

Before leaving I wanted to inform the manager of the situation. When I asked another server for the manager, he asked what was wrong. I began to explain what happened and all of the sudden the server started screaming at me as if I was the one in the wrong. He was walking around the restaurant screaming at me while there were other customers in the dining room.

When the manager finally decided to come out of his hiding spot(it took another 15 minutes for him to arrive), the manager said to me"what is the problem?" No apologies for anything just a "well what do you want me to do?". What I want is for you to control your employees, to apologize that I the customer was not given customer service. I want an apology for your server screaming at me in front of other guests dining in your restaurant. I tried to let corporate Applebee's know about this, but to no avail. It seems as though they are all too busy to take time out for a customer(you know the one's that make sure they are in business).
